Startup problems
I recently bought a 93 Dodge Stealth es 5 spd,It ran fine until a few days ago i went out to start it and nothing happened when i turned the key,If the interior lights are on they go dim when i turn the key, sometimes i get a voltage reading and the radio works and everything then when i try to start it ,it doesnt crank and clicks, other times i can turn the key and itll start up fine with no problems,i don't think its the battery because i put it in my 3kgt and it started it up fine everytime and i don't think its the alternator because i let the car idle for 15 mins with the lights and radio on.I checked the fuses and grounds and cant find any problems.

Re: Startup problems
Check your ground to the transmission for you starter. Thats the first place i would check. Then check all of your other grounds

Re: Startup problems
do a search on "click start fix". It's a cheap fix, <$20, and takes about a half hour to do.
Basically, the problem is that the wire that powers the starter solenoid is barely sufficient...so as the car ages and the wire connections corrode, it becomes non-sufficient. The solution is to run a seperate power wire to the solenoid through a relay. EDIT: here i found it for you. http://supercar-engineering.com/rubb...Fix/index.html you can find prettymuch all the parts you need an advance auto |
