Squealing noise in reverse
2002 Trailblazer making a high pitched squealing noise when in reverse. Does not make this noise when in drive. any ideas?

Just in reverse at idle foot on brake, or only when moving? In the front , back?, not much info, as it is we are handicapped commenting on noises.

Only when moving in reverse. Sounds like it's coming from the rear of the truck.

Pull the wheels look for the wear indicator on the rear pads touching the rotors.

I have thought of that and I will check but if that is the problem why would it make the noise only in reverse?

The inside pad will usually be the culprit here.

Could be a build-up of brake dust. If that's all, blow it away with compressed air.
