security system

i have a 1998 oldsmobile cutlass. I can shut off the vehicle and when trying to restart it will not. if i exit the car, use the key in the door to lock and un lock it will then start. its crazy but can anyone help

Did you ever find out what was wrong with the car? And, was it expensive? My car is doing the same thing.
