1992 f-150 starter problem

install new starter and the truck start fine but starter keep turning untill burn out can somebody help me please on were to start to find the problem

Re-check the wiring. You may have 2 touching each other. Especially if you had no problem with that before the change.

Ignition switch could be failing and not completely returning to run mode.
