Zero Paints
After base coating with zeropaints, is it neccesary to sand out orange peels b4 clear coating? and how many clear coats are recommended to achieve a nice finish....im having no luck with using zero paints + TS-13 clear coat...clear coat dries into a dull finish...

Also I never got orange peel from Zero bases: I usually thin a bit: also becouse the plastic jar allow evaporation (A LOT!!!!!! I'm almost an alcholist without drink nothing, just breathing vapours LOL). You'll sand down since they're hard enough, in the other hand you'll be able to do a zero base paintjob without orange peel: low pressure (10-15 PSI), thinned color... no much more, they're great.

Re: Zero Paints
There is no way you can get orange peal from Zero paints, orange peal is from primer or whatever is under it. The thing is, not to use it to much, as Gio said, nice and easy, low pressure, thin coats, just build them slowly, paint must cover but it must be extra thin, don't use heavy coats, just wave over the model like Rembrandt

Re: Zero Paints
No orange peel here either.
Just a good and smooth coat of primer for the base coat to attach to and you should be fine. This is a 288 GTO hood with Zero primer and Corsa rosso with no sanding on the rosso. Just a good layer of clear on top of it and it was fine. ![]() I find Zero-paints very easy to work with, sprays easily and covers good. Niclas |

2 or 3 mist and then start with the mist medium coats. I've used 2k, Tamiya's clear and Gunze's super clear all without problems. Only 2 coats with the 2k though, 1 mist tack coat and 1 wet coat just like in Hiroboy's tutorial. As for the Zero paint, a 2ounce (60cc) bottle lasts me 2-5 cars depending on what color it is and how much space I need to cover. HTH Steve
