OBDII DLC connector
I have an OBDII software scan tool called AutoEnginuity. Runs off my Dell laptop and connects to the cars DLC via a USB adapter. Works fine on other cars except on my 2000 Intrigue. It used to work. Connected it the other day and the program says it can not talk with the car. Says to make sure there is power to the DLC or that the connector is tight.
Wondering if there is a fuse for the DLC connector under the dash? Any one have such an issue? When the scan tool did work on the Intrigue it disconnected if I drove the car with the tool capturing data. I thought there was an alternator issue with the Intrigue and was wondering if the alternator was spiking the system causing the scan tool to disconnect. The alternator part numbers I have are these. Re: OBDII DLC connector
I've been seeing some weird things happen not only to myself but others regarding with the ignition switch. The ignition switch may not be engaging properly thus not getting power to the scan tool.

Re: OBDII DLC connector
The power to the ALDL port on most if not all GM cars is fused.
Check to make sure the cigarette lighter fuse or any similar accessories fuse is not blown.

Re: OBDII DLC connector
Thanks for the information. My cell charges off the lighter port so I think that fuse is ok. Will have to look at others. Nothing stands out as not having power. Might go over the manual and see if it lists anything.

Re: OBDII DLC connector
I pulled the fuse that the manual said was for the scanner port. It also killed the radio. No luck there as the radio was working before. Still not sure why scanner used to work on the connector and now doesn't
