trunk disc changer
Just bought a 99 Linc T.C. The audio system in dash has a CD button that reads "No Disc DJ" when pushed. So I assume I can plug a disc changer into the trunk somewhere and activate it.The thing I need to know is what years and criteria do I need to specify when I go hunting for one perhaps on EBAY or the like.

Re: trunk disc changer
Disk's are old school,put them with your 8-track tapes,Albums,and
cassettes. GO to Best-buy and buy a GPS,so you don't get lost next time. Also pick up a IPOD to carry your playlist. These gadgets are cheaper + better than that old cd player. You can use these products in either car. Last edited by danielsatur; 11-15-2010 at 12:44 AM. |

Re: trunk disc changer
McGiver,
Some of us like CDs. I have many CDs that I love to listen to and that is the only place you'll find the music. Also, some of us cannot afford a GPS or an IPOD. At my age I'm behind the 8 ball anyway and I'll possibly (probably?) never own an IPOD. Hopefully I'll be able to get a GPS someday - prices are coming down.

Re: trunk disc changer
Pix life without with out Viagra!
CD's are Great for the home entertainment, however they canbe very expensive when you add them all up. They really were not designed right for the Auto. At least the cassettes + 8-tracks you have a hard case for protection. Nobody can afford to get lost these days with gas $3.50 a gal. GPS TOMTOM $150 IPOD - $140 I guess the best way to look at it! Go to the Lincoln dealership and tell them your CD don't work + how much is it going to cost to fix it? CAUTION - Don't leave in car,or they we get stolen. I can use the same system in my DELSO,TC,JAG,and any car rental. Hey! I know it was way befor my time, but didn't they have a system that would play 45's (singles) in the Auto? Re: trunk disc changer
I just looked and my useless, expensive Hollander interchange guide has no information on the radio or cd player for the 99 TC. I like the CD's as well. I own an I pod, but can't say I have ever used it or even know how to turn it on. I'll just stick to my tapes and CD's

Re: trunk disc changer
Hey JYD!
You can buy one of those cassette interface wires to connect your IPOD to your cassette doc on any car stereo! Don't let this stuff intimidate you, these gadgets are user friendly. |
