need help about tamiya masking tape residue

ok here's the problem, after i painted my kit with a tamiya acrylic spray paint and let it dry for a week, then i started to mask and paint the window trim and noticed that after i removed the masking tape after the paint dries it leaves this sticky residue of the tape, im thinking it must be a reaction between the paint and the tape.. has anyone knows how to remove this residue? TIA

Re: need help about tamiya masking tape residue

When you say Tamiya acrylic spray paint do you mean the TS aerosol cans or the acrylic jar paints? If it's the aerosol cans you can polish off the residue with some finishing compound, but if you used the acrylic jar paints then go easier with the compound because they aren't as tough as the aerosol paints.I always find the jar paints take ages to dry and I have the same problem with the tape marking the surface. That is why I no longer use them for painting body shells etc.
