airbag system
I was checking the fluids in my 92 grand marquis and I had the stereo on and all of a sudden I heard some beeps and the stereo went off and the dash lights all went off except the battery light. So when I turn the ignition I get a series of beeps from the airbag system behind the glove box and the battery sign when it's usually more. the airbag light blinks all the time when I drive but I would have never though it would cause a power failure. when I try to crank the car all I get is a attempted start but no turn over. why is the airbag system causing my car to not even crank

Re: airbag system
A dead/weak/shorted battery can cause all kinds of strange electrical problems on these cars. Get the battery load tested first.

Re: airbag system
Theres alot of Bells & whistles on all new cars, and they like juice.
Startup: 1) Warm-up with All pwr stuff off, this will give the alternator time for charging. Shut down: 2) Turn all pwr stuff off prior to destination, again this will give alternator alittle more time for charge. Just like your cell phones with all the bells on it! The more you use,the less pwr you are going to have. Last edited by danielsatur; 11-15-2010 at 12:46 AM. |
