Water Under Dash

Can anyone shed light on why, everytime it rains heavily, I have a puddle of water on the passenger's side floor?

take off the plastic cover under your right, pass side wiper, there is supposed to be a peice off rubber stripe that diverts the water to go left of right ,glue it back on,if the rubber is not sealed or it fell off then all the water runs down into the blower motor and leaks inside the pass side of the carpet

Re: Water Under Dash

Impalalover is exactly right. If the cowl was removed to change the cabin filter someone may have displaced the rubber diverter. It's a rather bad design as i have heard of a fair amount of those who have had similar problems with this GM design.

Re: Water Under Dash

Fairly common problem, and its just like impalalover said, you could probably just glue that back into place without problem. I had the same problem, depending on how much water came in you may want to lift the carpet to dry it out. There is foam underlay on the carpet which will soak up ALOT of water. Your best bet is to remove the plastic door framing and prop the carpet up to dry, if you dont you may run into issues with smells and mold.

if the windshield was replaced it is very possible that the seal has failed..
