Re: Help please - oil leak and headlights don't work
Welcome to the forum!
I changed the thread title to something meaningful per the forum guidelines you agreed to when signing up for your account. Please keep these guidelines in mind for future posts. It's doubtful the two problems are related. I agree with inafogg that the oil leak, if it's coming from a pulley, would be the crankshaft pulley. As he mentions though, without knowing which engine is in your Taurus, it's difficult to guide you to known oil leak sources. Are you quite certain that the oil isn't leaking from somewhere higher and draining down, then dripping from the area of the crankshaft pulley since it's at the lowest point (pulley-wise) of the engine? There are dye leak detection kits that could greatly aid in determining the source of the oil leak. As for the headlights, have you checked the fuses for the lights? Do any of the lights work when you turn the headlights on such as the parking lights or interior instrumentation lights? -Rod |
