Mid to late 80's pickup
I am looking into purchasing a lighter, cyl pickup from the mid 80's to early 90's. My question is what do people from areas with road salt prefer? rust on the box is fine, but i need to have a decent frame and cab mounts. of the available makes/models, what one is likely to be best with rust?
looking at the ford ranger, chevy s10, toyota pickup, and dodge dakota |

Re: Mid to late 80's pickup
The 4 cyl. engines in the Ranger and Toyota are the best. The few 4 cyl Dakotas had a horrible Mitsubishi engine and the 4 cylinder in the S10 was incredibly underpowered. I would go with an early 90's Ranger.
