Amp help please.

Everything was working fine, been working fine for 2 years. Decided to take the backseat out of my navigator, somehow when taking it out, I move/knocked the capacitor and somehow the ground wire came off. Now I don't remember doing it, but I think I might of turned the truck and music on when the ground wire was not connected. Because as I'm cleaning out the back I noticed the ground wire had come off, so I reconnected it, turned the truck on to play some music. Nothing. I check everything and see I blew the fuse that connects power cable running from the battery to the amp. I replace the fuse and now only one amp is working, the rockford that powers my subwoofer.

However my other amp an old coustic amp, which powers my door speakers, does no work. The green power light is ON, but I get nothing from the speaker. There are 2 fuses, is it possible for the power light to be on, but one of those fuses not working? The only other thing that happend, was when changing the fuse on the cable that powers my amps, one of the ends slipped out the fuse holder and touched a piece of metal in the hood and some sparks came out, as I forgot to disconnect the battery . But keep in mind my other amp works, so I figure if that had blown something, both amps wouldn't work.

Can anyone figure this out or have this happen? Any help wold be appreciated.

the power light on the amp is turned on by the remote auto turn-on wire, not the power from the battery. I would start from scratch and check every fuse and connection to all of your amps before you really mess something up.

Thanks Paul (my name too), will cross my fingers and hope it's just the fuses, as the wiring to the speakers was never touched.

Well checked the fuses, they both looked intact. I never touched the wiring, checked it though looks good. Like I said one of my amps is still working after what happend. Wondering if I just happend to blow this amp, it's and very old coustic amp.

Ok well I was able to get enought slack to test my door speakers on the my rockford amp and they worked. So I guess my amp is blown? Like I said the power light still goes on, but no wiring was ever changed. Two channels on the amp were already going bad, I wonder if, when my amp wire hit metal causing the sparks, it blew out the rest of the amp, or something internally, because my rockford amp was unaffect.

And yes I know it was dumb to not disconnect the cable from the battery at first btu im knew at fixing my own music and it was a newbie mistake.

I have 3 way pioneers installed in my doors running at 300watts. At least thats what the box claims (still learning and getting educated). Any suggestions on what my next amp should be? Something about entry level, but not top of the line is welcome.

I did kinda the same thing, and the speedometer and tach needles jumed all the way around. I had to take apart the instrument cluster and flip them back over .... I was so mad.

There are plenty of amps out there to run the coaxials, everyone used to love profile amps for the money - haven't heard much about them lately though.
