HID Lighting problems ><

I wasn't sure if anyone on here would be able to help or not, But I just got my HID conversion kit. So I went out and wired it all up, got all excited and flipped my lights on. The bulbs just flickers and doesnt really ignite completely. Anyone have any idea what it could be (besides wiring wrongly cause I already thought of that.) ? Is there something special I needed to do?

You need to get rid of your DRL's as well. You cannot keep them with an HID kit.

Very first thing I did when I got both my Cavaliers
Anyways I checked my HID kit straight from the battery and it works great. So I'm waiting on my relay and I'll be good to go.

I'm not totally positive on this, But I think because the DRL won't produce enough wattage to properly ignite the HID and in turn damage the ballasts or bulbs.

Re: HID Lighting problems ><

well if i were to get HID's i would put them in the lows and the drl's are the high bulbs so i didnt understand why it would effect them, i just assumed that was the way everyone did it lol, but i guess if you were putting them in the high bulbs they would get messed up by the drl's.

Re: HID Lighting problems ><

I have an 2003 Cavalier, 1 9007 style bulb. So lows, highs and DRLs are all from the same bulb.
