gas gauge not accurate

My fuel gauge will move forward almost a 1/4 tank towards "FULL" when im coming to a hard stop and will move a 1/4 tank towards "EMPTY" when i take off from a dead stop... any ideas what could be causing this???

movement when driving hard will cause gauge / fuel to cause this. this is normal...
