2k: oil leaking out bottom
Hi I have a 2000 Cougar and notice oil has been leaking out the bottom of the engine at a rate of about 1 quart every 3000 miles. Anyway I looked under there and see oil dripping from the botom pan(I think it is a pan)
I realize it could be a real seal or an oil pan gasket. I work on alot of older V6 and V8 and not real sure how this engione/trans combination goes together. How hard is it to replace the oil pan on one of these Cougars? Can the oil pan be replaced while the engine i still in the car? It is a V6. It has a manual transmission. Troy |

Re: 2k: oil leaking out bottom
I just replaced my oil pan 2 weeks ago. On my 2000 Cougar V6 which is also a manual. Only hard part was removing the Y-pipe. Depending on how rusted your bolts are that should be the only issue. It can be done under the car.
Good luck buddy
