97 surburban has headlight problem

Here is my problem, With headlight switch in the headlight on position my headlights don't work on high or low beam and my high beam indicator light dosen't light up. The only way I can drive after dark is with the light switch in the parking light position then I have tail lights and dash lights and my DRL are on and are about like low beams. Here's what I've done so far:

1. Replaced light switch (fifty bucks and no help).

2. Checked fuses under hood ( the big 50 amp one, It's ok ).

3. Also checked fuses in the side of the dash and they all appear to ok.

I am open for suggestions. Help please.

Hummmm, interesting. Does this vehicle have, or has had, an aftermarket alarm system? Has this been an intermittent problem or just stoped working suddenly? I forgot, did you mention if the brights are working? LM

No alarm sysyem, No high or low beams (only DRL), and the lights quit about two weeks ago and haven't worked since. What should I do next any suggestions ?
