Question replace 02 impala rear wheel bearing/hub

I need to replace the rear wheel bearing on my 02 impala. We live in an area that uses road salt so I expect rust. I plan on using a slide hammer to pull it out once the bolts are removed. Has anyone done this before. I've heard on front wheel bearings you need to put a bolt through the bearing so you don't pull it apart when using a slide hammer.

I've also heard of people using an air chisel to remove wheel bearings. Do you just align the chisel with the gap between the bearing plate and knuckle?

It should not be that bad. Remove the dust cover and unscrew the nut on the spindle. Pull on the hub and the bearing should come off. Front wheels are the bad ones.
