Towing vehicle

I need to buy a vehicle that seats 4 and will tow 2500lbs occasionaly. I want to get the best gas milage. I can buy new or used. What should I look at?

I don't want to spend more that $18,000. I have tall kids so I think I want something with 4 doors. I'll look at the mazda thanks.

The Mazda is my car. That's in my signature. It won't tow 2500 lbs.

I'd recommend a low mileage used Buick Ranier or GMC Envoy 4.2L or a Dodge Durango.
