1995 Intrepid won't fire

About 2 months ago the car started to go downhill. My wifes uncle replace numerous hoses and the idle air control motor and the car ran like new. I broke my ankle and the car was not ran for about 4 weeks. The battery was dead and I had to replace it. After replacing it the car will turn just great, but won't fire all the time(sometimes it wil)l. Once I noticed that the instrument panel went dead and the car killed about 5 seconds later, which is what was happening before the idle air control motor was replaced. Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to take the instrument cluster out and check the soldier joints. Try hitting on top of the dash and see if does anything. The caravans have this problem maybe so also in the treps.

Good luck and let us know.

Thanks for the help. I figured it out, it has something to do with the ingintion cylinder or switch. If I jiggle the key, it will start.

to repair and get the thrill back than a pissed off girlfriend.
