A/C in 95 Grand Am GT V6

Okay guys & gals, I've got a question for ya.

I had the transmission replaced in my 95 Grand Am last year. Before I took the car in to be repaired the A/C worked fine. After I got it back, the blower worked, but nothing but hot air is coming out. Is there a chance that something may have accidentally been unhooked or something during the replacement of the transmission? If not, any ideas what could be going on? Any info would be greatly appreciated. It's coming up on warm weather and the windows don't roll down (regulator I believe) and I have a baby on the way in 2 months. Can't have baby riding in an oven

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to AF.

I'd check the plug on the compressor, also the fuse and relay(s).

If thats intact and connected, check that the compressor is engauging when "ON".
They would have disconnected your AC lines to drop the trans, probly didnt bother with pulling the vacum and refilling it properly.

Hope that helps.

Okay, I will certainly check that out. I was wondering if they would have had to unhook anything pertaining to the A/C when they replaced the transmission. Thanks so much for the response!

Is it blowing hot (as in the heater is on) or un-cooled (as in the A/C isn't working)?

If it's always blowing hot check the blend door. '95 may be different, but my '98 is cable controlled and you can see it by removing the glove box. It should turn about 90 degrees from cold to hot.

Re: A/C in 95 Grand Am GT V6

It seemed to me like it was just as if the A/C wasn't working and not the heat being on. Granted it was checked during June in Georgia, so with the humidity they would probably feel similar. I will check the things you mentioned. Thanks!
