1996 Escort Clutch Master Cylinder

New to this forum, but an old hat when it comes to turning wrenches (worked as a GM/Chrysler tech in 1980s and 1990s). Been a dweller for awhile, and finally decided to register.

The clutch master cylinder on my 1996 Escort is puking fluid (been soft lately, and yesterday, clutch would not disengage when pedal was pushed). Looked underneath the dash at the pedal pushrod, and confirmed fluid leakage. Clutch slave looked dry on visual inspection.

Question I have is, I have the new clutch master cylinder, any secrets I need to know on this repair before I get started? I have the Ford service manual on DVD and its looks pretty straightforward; however, I have seen and heard some horror stories on hydraulic clutches on some vehicles.

No secrets that I know of... it is very straightforward. Just be sure to prime the master cylinder and bleed the system real good when it is installed.
