D16Z6 Any good?

I was thinking about buying this D16Z6 from this guy. He only wants $200 for the complete motor!! Including transmission, block, head, distributor, and everything else I need just to drop it my car. Is it worth it and do the D16Z6's have potenial?

Hell, if I dont like it I can just sell it for $600 and make a $400 profit.

I'm planning on getting one myself... They have some nice potential after you put a 4th gen civic tranny and intake manifold on it it's ready to swap in.

you wont be able to use the tranny off the z6 cause its a hydraulic tranny, you will have to use your cable tranny, my advice is to get a 89-91 Si tranny! And if he gives you a ECU, you will need to convert from obd0-obd1. Also, is your car a Si already or not? if not, you will have to get MPFI......... well, yea 200 bucks is a good price, you can probably sell the tranny for 100 bucks and you got the motor and the ecu and stuff for 100 bucks..... the ecu alone is worth 150 or so on eBay...... so good find bro!!!

Do not convert to hydraulic, its so much wasted money........ the only time you'd do that is if you were putting in a Type R Tranny (B Series) or a H22 (H Series Tranny)....... if you put in a D series Hydraulic tranny on your car, i will fly over there and slap you!! but seriously, DO NOT use the Z6 tranny..... get the 88-91 Si tranny or buy my ZC tranny....

if you use the z6 transmission you'd have to get different mounts for it in addition to switching the clutch types

Ok, heres what I want to know. Why cant you use the Fuel injection from the 92-95 civic instead of having to convert to 88-91 EX/SI/HF MPFI.

Melt: you CAN use the 92-95 civic intake manifold except for the vacuum lines aren't routed exactly the same, you'll have to rig up a couple things. A lot of people said it cannot be done but im using 92-95 fuel injection with a non-obd pm6 ECU.

BTW, if you end up using the 92-95 manifold, and using a PM6/PG7 ECU, you *cannot* use the 92-95 fuel injectors. You'll have to get an injector resistor box and peak and hold fuel injectors from a 88-91 setup.

I got a 88 crx hf with a d16z6 swap, i never drove a regular crx so i cant compare =/ and i just bought this car last week. But so far it runs good, i do need to put in the ecu, and im definitly going with a 89-91 si tranny...

So can any one tell me what is the best ecu to get whats the difference between the p06 and p28 and so forth because someone is selling p28's with ocd1, and what would i need to do the obd1 conversion and what is a MPFI ? Would i need it if i went with te p28 ocd1?... Also what else other then just the tranny from the si will i need? I'll be having my uncle install everything for free, hes a mechanic i just need to bring him the parts.... So please help me Thanks alot =)

Well the P06 ECU is from the 5th Gen Civic 1.5l, the P28 came from the 1.6l(Z6). For the P28(OBD1) to work you need to get a OBD0-OBd1 conversion wire harness. MPFI-Multi-point fuel injection.

that is all i thought was the difference between the 2 greg, just didn't know for sure.

Ok so if the ecu is for obd1 then it needs to become obd-0 with the harness to fit into a 88 rx hf, and where does the MPFI come from.. What car? Thanks alot
