WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
As the title says, I'm looking for a BISS that is not made of plastic. I've purchased a BISS from both Extremepsi and JNZ tuning and they were both made out of plastic. When I try to install them they start to break off and so I then need to drill a hole and sink a screw into them and pull them out in order to get them back out. I want to fix this problem for good. So if anyone has a BISS in good shape that's not made out of plastic that you want to get rid of, let me know.

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
is it possible for you to just take your plastic screw and go down to the hardware store and try and match the size and thread pattern??

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
Base Idle screw basically if you turn it up rpms go up down rpms at idle go down. Its right on the throttle body. It tends to leak boost pressure at lot.

Just use some teflon tape on the threads.

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
Has anybody ever done that? The main reason that I want to get this fixed is because when the cars cold I'm idling at 3000rpms and when it finally warms up she comes down to about 2200rpms at operating temp. I'm sure that I am getting horrible gas mileage due to this because every time I stop the idle is mad high as if I were moving along. Not to mention it's not good for an engine for when it first starts in the morning to start up at 3k.

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
What does the BISS do? I know it adjust the idle but what exactly does it control? Is it just like a valve that lets air in kinda like the IAC.

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
The further it's screwed in, the less air can get through. If I can't screw it in any further without chipping plastic off then I'm going to keep idling high so I need to fix this.

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
So it basically just allows air to bypass the TB plate? Why would you even need the BISS screw? The IAC motor should adjust the air for the idle, what would happen if you just cut off all the air going throught that part?

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
I would assume that the idle would die out, but I'm not sure.

Re: WTB: BISS made out of anything other than plastic
NED: I have a N/T throttle body just sitting here. I'm sure it has the metal BISS. I only live about 45 minutes from ya...
Like said it's the BASE idle set screw. The IAC adjusts at idle when accessories are turned on such as the A/C
