02 non-RF to 07 RF 6-disc

I recently purchased an 2007 RF 6-disc radio for my 2002 xterra. Found the sound level problems that everyone else is talking about. I thought the amplifier was built into the HU, wrong. Anybody know how hard it would be to install the proper amplifier for this HU. Or maybe any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
