Inside IBM or Relay/fuse Box

I opened up today the old relay/fuse box form my 02 caravan to see why it was not letting my blower motor run.

The protective coating on the inside circut board was peeling an lifted with corrosion on the printed circut board. The clear material was flaking like rust but it was clear and a silicon type material

Just another crappy piece of stuff built by Dodge/Chrysler.

If mine went after 6 years many others will be going.

Yup, IPM corrosion issues have been popping up on the forum more often lately. Apparantly it's not sealed well. Has anyone found a better way to seal it?

Re: Inside IBM or Relay/fuse Box

I don't think you can seal it, the circut board is in a plastic box, sort of water tight but not good enough to sit under the hood in the side front of the engine compartment, Just a lousy design from Dodge.

Mine started acting up after the last snow sorm we had here,(toronto) wind with snow blows into any crack or crevis, probably filled with snow, melted then shorted rusted out.
