how to change blinker lights on dash?
Since i got my car about 6 months ago the blinker lights have never worked. After taking apart the whole speedo dash thing i found out that i think theres this plastic piece under the steering column you have to take out so you can access the light bulbs from the back i think? Only problem is that the piece of crap chapman lock (which is a scam and doesnt work anymore) is bolted right over that plastic piece i have to remove. How convenient!
Took out a big screwdriver to take off the chapman lock and the bolt chipped! None of my wrenches fit it either cuz its metric or soemthing. I'll get it off somehow... ![]() ![]()

Re: how to change blinker lights on dash?
I know you have the same guage cluster as me, (the four round seprate ones) i've had mine off a few times, you may not need to remove that little blue socket, after studying how it is, you may be able to just pull the bulb out from the front with long nose pliers, but i've never tried that. since we're on the topic of blinker bulbs too, quick question: does anyone know if the boxy caprices had the feature that makes the blinkers flash quicker if a bulb is out or is that only on newer cars? (diddnt mean to hijack your thread)

Re: how to change blinker lights on dash?
I have large hands and so I don't like to try to remove them from the back. If one burns out anywhere in the cluster, I will remove the cluster from the front and then it's easy access. I replace all of them if one burns out.

Re: how to change blinker lights on dash?
No, nothing like that at all. It's just if one bulb burns out, they're all getting close on the age thing and I will do them all - to save myself from having to do this for another 10 years or so.

Re: how to change blinker lights on dash?
makes sense, when i first got my car, someone removed the check engine bulb, which i thought was strange, i put another one in and it only comes on when the key is first turned like it shoul normally.
