Re: cd player 04 ion2

I had this happen to my 04 ion2, it was under warranty at the time so they replaced it. Low and behold 2 months out of warranty its doing it again.
I am going with an aftermarket head unit with an aux input so i can use my zune. Don't have info yet on the dash though.

Re: cd player 04 ion2

The factory single CD player, I've noticed ,pretty much hates cd-r discs. That could be the issue if that's what you are using. A quick solution is to snatch up a Saturn 6-disc mp3 changer on ebay, they are not only dirt cheap but they're decent sounding, have plenty of cd-r love, and play mp3-discs. By burning mp3s as data rather then standard audio format, you get more songs per disc and with 6 discs in-dash, it's hard to run out of tunes. If you do, however, it's got a front panel mp3 player jack, too. The unit is a simple plug in unit - changing the stereo is as simple as gently taking off the trim piece,(it's only spring-clipped on) taking out a few screws, unplugging the harness and antenna, and pulling the radio. You do have to lose the under-stereo storage when trading up to the six disc, but it's a minor inconvenience you'll easily forget. If you do wish to go aftermarket, the Saturn format is good old ISO DIN, so all you have to do is take the brackets off of the factory radio and they'll mount right on an aftermarket. Add a GM wiring harness and the usual GM mini-plug antenna adapter, and you're plug-and-play compatible, easily able to swap to a factory radio if you sell the car. In fact, it's so non-intrusive you can even get away with doing it on a leased car!

Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????
