WTB used engine
hi I have a 96 eclipse gs-t
I dont really know if you guys can help me but.. i was wandering if you knew of any way to find a decent turbo 4g63 engine from a junkyard for a decent price cause im going to change the internals anyway cause i want to swap my engine after anyway. So if you guys new were or how to get a turbo 4g63 eclipse engine for like under $800.00 Thanks alot I really appreciate it!!!

I would check ebay, they are on there all the time. You should be able to pick up a blown one pretty cheap. Moved

I thought the 4G63 was the AWD engine? And the GST still used the turboed 420A?

Who knows and cares. It's a model number. The 420a never came from the factory turboed in any car.

Some engine code have a little bit of meaning. 13b=1.3L, RB26DETT=2.6L Twin Turbo and so on a so forth. I'm guessing that 420a stands for 4 cylinder 2.0L.

 Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order. The Purple People Eater will ride again... January 2011 can't come soon enough.
