Re: disabling Security System
The fob hasn't worked in probably a year so I don't even set the alarm anymore. The problems just started yesterday. The armed light flashes very fast, the dash gages all go crazy, first it wont' start and then the first time it turns over it stalls....the second time it runs. The flashing light and crazy gages stop when I put my foot on the brake. Any thoughts.

Re: disabling Security System
1. Check the battery - thoroughly test it.
2. Clean the battery terminals even if they look clean - these vehicles are very sensitive to voltage and current deficiencies and can cause the problems you described. |

Re: disabling Security System
I just had the charging system checked and the starter replaced about 2 months ago.

Re: disabling Security System
That was 2 months ago, I would advise to at least clean the battery terminals. I'm not blowing smoke here, I've seen many 99'-'04 Grands (including mine) with weak batteries or bad connections exhibit the problems you describe but otherwise run fine.

Re: disabling Security System
My nieces 99 GC had the same problem and turned out to be a low battery charge
