97 Cav P0440

I have code P0440 showing. EVAP Emission Control System Malfunction. I took off the gas cap, cleaned it and reinstalled it. I cleared the code. I have only drove it once since then, no return code. I think the cap is good and the light will come back on. If it does, I understand that several other related EVAP parts can be the problem.
Is there any one part that is a common cavalier problem or weakness?
Thanks.

Re: 97 Cav P0440

Thanks.
I did some of that yesterday. I traced the lines, looked at the canister, purge and vent solenoids, electrical lines I could get to, but didn't find anything that really stood out. I did notice the lines back near the gas tank are pretty rusted.
I'll probably have to get a smoke test done, if the check engine comes on again.
I did see some threads while searching the I-net about 2000 or so Cavaliers. They have a wiring harness that breaks at the canister near the gas tank. My 97 is a different set up with the canister up under the front fender.
