I'm moving and selling the Talon...

Well guys, I finally have my own place about an hour and a half North of where I live now... I am moving into it this weekend when I get the keys and it is huge. I got a really good deal on it and everything is brand new. I'm gonna be the first person to live in it and I'm pretty excited... I'm sure some pictures will come eventually here...

Now for the sad news... Because of this recent move, I have pretty much made up my mind that the Talon will be sold... I'm gonna finish it and enjoy it for a few months before I sell it, but it will be sold. I can afford everything barely as is, but if I sell the Talon and pay off my Cobalt then I can live oh so comfortably and be saving money too... I've just reached the point in life where you start to grow up and realize that sometimes you have to part with your toys to actually get somewhere in life... That time is upon me and soon it will be reality...

As for the status on the Talon... Everything is here to finish it up 99% and I just need to find some free time to get it done. Next weekend I will be off for 3 days and I am gonna try to get it finished up then and drive it... The only main problem that I have in finishing it is that I can't get my balljoint back together and my axle threads are a little messed up. I might just replace the entire balljoint if I can't get this one back together and I need to find a 22mm dye for the axle. I believe it is a 1.5 thread pitch but need to double check... If anybody has this dye or knows where I can buy just an individual one, please help a fellow DSMer out... I don't wanna start my castle nut on it and screw up the rest of the threads just because the end of it is bad...

Ok, back to details of the place... This place is pretty much like having a house, its so big. I did a lot of thinking and crunching of numbers and with a lot of the crappy places I was looking at that were tiny one bedrooms apartments, I was going to be paying about 600 dollars a month in rent and utilities... And of course those utilities can flucuate a lot causing some cost of increases that I didn't want to deal with... Well I found this place that was 600 even and utilities were included with it and it was a two bedroom apartment with 2 floors, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, all new appliances, and a new AC unit. Heck I even have a dishwasher! lol... This place was completely gutted and redone in every single aspect you can imagine. It's like moving into a brand new house, so I'm pretty stoked for the price... And not to mention that I have a ton of space...

So that is it kids... I'm moving on with life and actually gonna do more with my life than live at home with my parents working a crappy job in a crappy town with no oppourtunities for advancement... It was a tough decision to make, but I realized it was more important than any car will ever be... This doesn't mean I'll be leaving of course. I just won't be owning a DSM anymore for a while... But at least I'll get to enjoy this beast for the summer months before I sell it...

Good and bad new. I think its great that you are moving on with life and even willing to give up the talon to do it. Sounds like you got your priorities straight. Its still a shame to see the car go though. So much work and money into it.

Right now I'm way out in the middle of nowhere, but I'll be moving to the Niles/Warren area of Ohio. (If anyone actually knows where that is. lol) It's just North of Youngstown...

It is a nice thing, but like stated, it sucks that I have to part with the Talon to do everything I wanna do... I figure, I can always buy another one someday...

And I'm gonna at least enjoy this thing for a while before getting rid of it. How much do you guys think I could get for it? I was thinking around 10k... Mind how much more than that I have actually invested into this car...

In a way it sucks to grow up, but the rewards will be so much greater than just a car that is a toy... Also might as well mention that I just got into a serious relationship with a great girl... I'm sure there will be some pictures of that one too for those of you that have me on Myspace and Facebook...

Well, time to start packing stuff for moving Friday...

I can understand the moving out part cause living w/ your parents gets old real quick. As for selling the car, I wouldn't do it. Believe me when I parted w/ my Talon I almost cried as childish as that sounds. After I sold it all I wanted to get was another one and now I've got one.

I agree, why throw all that time and effort away, i mean, i see your point and its probably the right decision, but do you really want to part with the car you virtually re-created? I couldn't do it... Is there any way to store it? Im assuming you have it paid off, so where is the money issue?
