slow start

Hey Guys, I have a 95 TC signiture series and i had the transmission rebuilt and put back in. A pro did the build a I did the install. Now when i first start her up and try to go... it seems like it has no power for the first minute or so. If i hit the gas it barely moves and then will all of a sudden take off. I was throwing a code for the egr valve and running lean i believe (may have been rich). Has anyone else experienced this probelm or know what could be cause this. Also does anyone know where the top of the pvc valve connects to? it has the elbow up top which sucks in but i dont have a hose connected to it. THanks again everyone for any help

Re: slow start

Hello, I also have a 95 LTC And I alsi replaced the transmission. I agree that you should have the EGR problem looked at first. I had a similar problem recently, I was driving home and came to a stop and the engine ran horribly, it took a few minutes and finally gave me the code of Excessive Exhaust Gas Flow Detected. I believe PO 400 or 401. I went ahead and replaced the EGR Valve Gasket, DFPE Sensor (Hope I correctly abreviated) and the Solenoid. When I had the EGR Valve off, I took the metal tube the connects to it and the exhaust, and took a smaller flat head screw driver turned it side way and rotated the pipe to scrap out all the carbon build up... After I completed this, my problem not only went away, but had lots more power. Out of curiousity, do you have like a rotten egg smell comming from your exhaust? If so your Cats could be clogged. If the problem still exsists, I would take it to a dealer..
