Does anybody know what this box is?

04 trailblazer, yada yada yada

this sounds nutz, but out of personal curiosity I want to know what a box is in my car.

second row seating, passenger side, under the seat. What is this unit? I know the fuse box is on the driver side and the jack is all over, but what is this? It appears it could be anything. Pure personal curiosity because I cannot find this info anywhere which is really odd. Picture when i get around to it.

thanks?

Re: Does anybody know what this box is?

After some more looking, It would appear that this is the control box for the onstar system...

It has a big sticker on the side says motorola and a few connectors (J1, J2, J3, J4) of which 2 of four are being used, theres also another hookup that looks like an antennabut i dunno. I dont use onstar, would removing the box have any adverse effects?

another thing, is it possible to use the gps antenna for another reciever?

just an idea....
It is the new revision of onstar box, not the oncore system, hence why i ask...

I know a lot of my stuff is really off the wall, but I'm trying to do some things with my car and they really have packed every nook and cranny with some piece of equipment so I'm just trying to get to know my vehicle....
