Driver Window rolls down (powered), stuck.
My girl's car (2000 chevy cavalier) is not letting her roll her driver window up. It can roll down, but fails to go back up. I was wondering if anyone knew of this problem?? Thanks!

Re: Driver Window rolls down (powered), stuck.
Its the infamous window motor, it will need replacing and will cost you $120-200 for a mechanic to fix.
You can do it yourself but its a pain, if you do decide to do it yourself dont bother with a junkyard motor, it will most likely be short lived. |

Re: Driver Window rolls down (powered), stuck.
Could also be your window switch.....does the window go down VERY slowly? and then get stuck or go down pretty fast and then get stuck, if its slow, the motor is done, if its fast then stops, Id guess a bad connection in the switch, if it turns out to go down fast and stop take your window buttons off clean all the metal connectors using rubbing alcohol and Q-Tips, all those coffees and pops that get spilled in there will do that at one point, happened to me before and my buddy too.

From what I know, it went down normal since it's powered and you know the driver side is automatic when you roll it down. Once it was rolled down, it couldn't be rolled back up. That's what I was thinking myself was the motor though.

Yes it is the motor, Check with a auto parts store, I got mine for 35 dollars, Follow the instructions. There is a spring that will bust your wrist when you drill out the rivets (trust me on this) and get your rivet gun and 3/8 rivets as you will need them to reinstall the motor assy.
