jeep starting/stalling issues
My 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4.0L is having starting and stalling problems. No matter whether the engine is cold or warm, when you go to start it, it just cranks. However, if you put your foot on the gas, it starts up. But as soon as you take it off, it shuts right off. But, if I get it running and shift it into any gear right away, it stays running but it idles kind of low. Usually, it idles around 700 RPMS but now when it is in gear and not moving, it idles at about 300 or 400 RPMS. And when I turn the A/C on, it idles even lower. There is no check engine light, but I THINK it is the Idle Air Control valve, but I am not sure. Any help would be great.

Re: jeep starting/stalling issues
Sounds like you need to raise your idle a bit. Was it a slow progression to get to this point?

Re: jeep starting/stalling issues
I had the same thing happen to my 04 when the battery started dying. If your gages start to flutter like crazy then it's time to get a new battery.
