What do you think about taking it back?
Ok, i have a 2002 1500 4.8 Auto with 61,000 miles on it . I bought it in October with 56500 miles on it and a 3 month 3000 mile warranty. Since then i have had nothing but problems if you have been reading posts. Not so much during the warranty period but after (naturally) Since i bought it i have had to put tires on it, tensioner pulley, AC tensioner pulley, inner tie rod ends, aligned twice, brakes, had to have the steel brake lines repaced from master cylinder all the way to all wheels, had to get a transgo kit put in the transmission, also had to have both knock sensors replaced, and had it in last week for a PCM replacement. So the truck still doesnt feel like its running the way it should and im getting a pending code still that the new computer was supposed to fix. So I might have to take it back again. So it has been in the shop 6 seperate times (not all to the dealership, but i have receipts from all work). I am about to call the salesman and see if there is anything he would do for me. This truck has been more of a problem over the past 6 months than it has helped me. Am i right to be calling the salesman to see if he could do anything? I have bought other cars there before. I just want to see if they would do anything for me? Thanks!

Re: What do you think about taking it back?
Its just in how old the truck is, especially in our climate. Salt belts are known for brake lines/ brakes wearing prematurely. Also that it is 6 years old suspension parts will start going. My 01' is going through ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings etc, which I just chalk up to age. Unles you getsomething only a couple years old you are going to have probs with anything you buy. Its not just in a specific brand either, Fords have all kinds of probs, dodges have final drive issues, and toyotas are having more and more recalls. I would try to take it back but the way I figure it the problems are going to happen anyway so just get them out of the way now. Just my

Re: What do you think about taking it back?
Well see here is the thing, they were to run it through the shop and check everything before i bought it. And i told them that a belt was sqeeling when the AC was on, and they chalked it up as a miscelaneous noise that wasnt anything. So after i bought it i figured out by a way of the hand that the AC tensioner was shot! So that leads me to beleive that they didnt even look the truck over. And if they did, i think that they would have recognized some of this stuff. But anyway i called and talk to the salesman, he is going to keep an eye out for a better truck that he can get me a real good deal on and in the mean time im back to the dealership this week to get one of the knock sensors replaced again, since my check engine light is back on.

Re: What do you think about taking it back?
Is this one of those corner lots or a dealership?

Here's a list of some of the things I found after I got it home. 1. Front diff fluid way low. (no external leaks)?? 2. T-case fluid way low. (same thing)?? 3. Right outer tie rod grease fitting missing. 4. Tranny cross member bolts missing. Did I call them back and tell them? NO. Why trust them to fix that stuff when they didn't do it right in the 1st place. Now at 136k and 7 years later I have replaced the intake gaskets and water pump along with the normal wear items. If I was going thru what you are I would be seriously pissed. I wouldn't be talking with a salesman either, I'd have my butt parked on the owners desk chatting with him and also to the BBB. Ok, I'm all out of steam. Cheers

Re: What do you think about taking it back?
If you want to unload it I`d go somewhere else. Screw me once shame on you ,screw me twice shame on me . All the cash you`ve put into it ,unless you can get most of it back I`d say keep it. Find another dealership to go to for service if possible . just my

Re: What do you think about taking it back?
I did a carfax report on it and it came up clean. I dont know, I would have to refinance $4000 to unload it, i think ill just keep it for a while till i get rid of this negative equity
