Just some more pictures.

RX7Club meet from 04.05.08. Not a bunch of racing, but much fast driving that I'll speak about in a more private setting. There were some imperial entanglements I'd rather not post about. I also had a few races, but nothing really worth posting at all. If you want I will.

They were taking a picture of my car and some weaksauce FD got in its way...not really.

Surprisingly quick RX8, really loud. I know he has a single exit exhaust, not sure what else.

It has a 2JZ, I swear (buddies IS300 soon to be traded out)

Some ricer in a slow ass Mazdaspeed3

Remember that video I posted of the two Mazda3's racing and myself passing in a liesurely manner? Here is one of them.

Not to fast, but this Mazda3 can fkng handle. And it has a carputer...

After the RX7Club "cruise", the FD/FC guys stopped at a bar to do some drinking, and the kid in the MR2 took off to find some racing. This is relavent because at a past meet, when approached by a police officer who said he had a call in that there was racing, without even being asked the kid in the MR2 admitted that he was. Idiot. So the rest of the 3 guys and myself took off to find some fun twisty roads. We also got some more pictures, but only one turned out worth it.

That silver MS3 behind mine is stupid fast. His car is pretty much my argument against turning up my boost as it is. Intake, turboback, exhaust manifold, and CDFP, and he put bus lengths on a 2008 350Z. More pics when I get home from work.

Some sweet rides. Cool that you can chill with highend Porsche owners and dudes with nice a$$ FDs.

The only "meets" that take place by me involve rednecks and their cousins that bring out their american muscle cars to the local Chevy dealership (that just so happens to be directly across the street from the Hooters)

Re: Just some more pictures.

Most of them are cool, lol. The guy with the Carrera has an FC set up for road courses, a 944 and 944S that he races, two Aprillas, and a Ducatti. He is also the guy who organizes all the Texas Cannonball runs. He's really chill, laid back. But that Carrera is fast as all hell. He brought it to the Ruf Auto Center in Dallas, and, well...its pretty quick, we can just say that.

RX8Club Pics Here are the shots taken by a member over at RX8Club, the above ones are from a guy at RX7Club. I only had two or three shots turn out worth it, I'll have them up tonight.

Some nice rx-7s/8s there. Really like the white 7 towards the top.

Re: Just some more pictures.

How quick of an 8 are we talking about here? BTW I freaking despise those 8's with a single exhaust, the car sounds so beautiful with the stock exhaust, I dont understand why anyone would change it for a buzzing sound that yields no gains in performance.

Nah, that single exit one sounded nice, like a proper rotary. As far as how quick, I didn't pull to hard on him, not as hard as I've pulled on other RX8s.

maybe he is pushing around 230 or so to the wheels? maybe even 240.... would be interesting to to see what he has. I think as long as he did the single exhaust right, it would be fine. Though I do really like the look of a dual on those cars. Not a single one around here is modded i dont think, all a bunch of older guys who dont seem to care about how fast they are going just how good they look

Re: Just some more pictures.

Im sorry but no one can ever justify the sound of the single exhaust on the rx-8, if you want the true rotary sound out of the RX-8 leave it as dual outlets and put in a mid pipe to replace the cat and resignator.

But anyways if he was on all N/A mods then he is pushing close to 220whp which seems like the case because if he was on a greddy turbo, which is the lowest hp set up he wouldve been around 270whp and probably wouldve passed you since the rx-8 weighs a good 200-300 pounds lighter than the MS3. If he was on the pettit supercharger stage 2 he wouldve been pushing close to 300-320 whp depending on the other mods he has and again he wouldve passed you.

So its safe to say he had all n/a mods, flywheel, pulley kit, smaller battery, the exhaust, CAI, reflash or interceptor X engine management, lighter rims, headers, ect... not the most cost effective way to go as far as power wise but its still nice, Though I would scold him for the single HKS exhaust he has on there.

I dunno. Maybe its just me, but the few RX7 guys I hang around with all have full bolt ons, street or bridge ports, or singles+ports. So, I think the sound of the stock exhaust or mild exhaust RX8 is just weak. But then again, I'm going three inch catless turbo back with no resinators, so I obviously like loud. That red FC with the black hood and cardboard under the front bumper is my inspiration for a perfect FC. Stage 2 Streetport, T67, 3.5 inch straight turbo back, standalone Haltech with amazing tune...he was pulling the shit out of the Ruf tuned 997. You can hear it from a mile away when he gets on it.

I'm probably about 255-260 wheel with this shit ass boost leak that keeps poping in and out. Once I get the turbo back settled, I'll be ready to go more boost. I'm thinking about settling at a conservative 18 pounds. That would put me around 300-310whp, and high 300s for torque.

Most likely. If he's at the meet I'm putting together tomorrow night I'll ask him. I'd like to get a real run against him, not one of our cannonball things.

Yeah I know what your saying but for the RX-8 its pointless going single exhaust unless its going to be a track car cause then every weight savings makes a difference, but power wise there is no difference. Unlike the previous 13b, the renesis see's no cost effective gain from any exhaust after replacing the cat and resignator with a mid pipe. If you take a look at the stock exhaust set up you will see it's almost straight through piping with the cat and resignator being the only restricting parts. On an average the mid pipe will net a 6-8whp gain, its not much but then again you also drop a good 25 - 30 pounds off the exhaust from how freaking heavy the replaced piece was. The best sounding exhaust ive heard on an RX-8 was a midpipe with either a MS catback or racing beat catback. Basically any midpipe/catback combo will give you that loud rotary sound but it wont be buzzy like the single outlet will be, and any combo will give you that fun rotary popping sound with those 2 foot flames behind to scare tailgaters. (The freaking RX-8 is running rich as hell so they shoot flames like crazy, even mine give off the popping sound with the stock exhaust but its much quieter.)

Fixed it for you. I got it on my totally stock exhaust, and with my current catback on stock DP/MP with cats, I'm getting nice loud pops and back fires. According to friends I've shot flames once or twice. At wide open, I'm sitting at a beatiful 9ish AFR.

Ah I stand corrected, nice, didnt know that the MS3 did the same with only a catback. What sucks is that the cats go out quick, but that only give us an excuse to get a midpipe, lol.

Those Carrera GT's are sick. There is a guy around here who has a pearl white GT. Not much for that yellow though.

I didn't know Fallout Boy was into the whole turbo mazda scene.
