Cold Air Intake Question

I was also wanting to add a cold air intake to my chevy silverardo 2500 HD 6.0L V8 Gas truck. My question is what is that sensor connected to the oem air filter? An after market cold air intake seems like it does not have one, is that going to be a problem? thanks

Re: Cold Air Intake Question

I think you're looking at the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). Whichever cold air intake kit you go with should have instructions on where to put it back when you install.

Re: Cold Air Intake Question

^ Or does he mean the air filter restriction gauge? Even though its not a "sensor" in that respect...

Re: Cold Air Intake Question

What year?
Big sensor in the air intake is usually a maf sensor.
You need it for your truck to run right.
And it does not like oily K&N filters.

But I would just same my money and forget the cold air intake.
You may allready have OEM a cold air intake on it.

Are you hoping for better mileage or more power?
