99 cutlass master window switch problems

I have a 1999 cutlass and recently my master window switch has been actng up,i can put the passenger and 2 back windows up and down but the driver side window only goes down nd wont go back up. is anyone one else having this problem.
P.s i went to the junkyard to find a replacement switch but every cutlass and malbu there had the part i was looking for already taken out by others,so is this a common problem?

Re: 99 cutlass master window switch problems

Yes it is a common problem which can usualy be solved without replacing the switch. You can take it apart and clean it up, also check the connectors they tend to corrode and not make proper contact to work.

Here is a link that might help with disassembly of the switch, its for the Grand am but is pretty much the same part(s).

You might also try using some canned air to blow out the button area. If some debrie falls into there it can keep it from operating right.

Hope that helps.
