Hotwire 1977 Cutlass Supreme Brougham

I need help hotwiring my '77 Cutlass Supreme(350 V8). Coming from the ignition switch is a few thin wires and 5 thicker wires. I'm assuming the thicker ones except for the orange with black stripe wire are for the cranking/ignition process. The orange with black stripe is the blower motor. I can get the engine to crank with the the pink, and red tied together and touching them to the purple but I can't get it to start. I don't know what the brown wire is for. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Hotwire 1977 Cutlass Supreme Brougham

Thanks for the post. I had it hotwired right all along; for some reason the engine sometimes only cranks and doesn't turn over; tied together the red and pink wires coming out of the ignition switch the touched the pair to the purple wire coming out of the ignition switch until the engine fired up.
