Roaring noise

I have a 98 blazer 2wd. In the driver side is a roaring noise. If I ride in the passenger seat it is not as loud but in the driver seat it sounds like an airplane. yesterday it feels like my brake is ingaged but it isn't a squeal like my brake but a very loud roar could it be my front wheel bearing or hub? also I have no check engine light on so I can't check for codes. My catalytic converter needs replaced I thought that was making the roar but it is on the passenger side and the noise is coming from the driver side. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Roaring noise

Any tire noise?
Any exhaust leaks?
Any clutch fan noise or air intake noise?
Why does cat need replaced?
Does the noise change with MPH?
Does the noise change when you turn wheel a little right or left going down the road 35-50 MPH.
Jack it up and spin wheels a listen for noise in bearing area and see if it is lose or has any play in it.

Re: Roaring noise

1-no tire noise
2-no exhaust leak
3- cat is rattling like bb's
4- with increase on rpm the roaring gets loader
5- the noise is loader driving straight because when you turn you slow down so no noise on turning the wheel left or right.

I am at work so I will have to wait to jack it up.

Re: Roaring noise

sorry no cluch fan noise or intake, the noise came on sudden just one day but gets louder every day and now the left side tire feels like it is dragging the exceleration down. meaning if I push the gas, get my speed up then let off it pulls the speed down like I have my foot on the brake but I don't.

Re: Roaring noise

Check the wheel bearing real close.
Most of the time it is wheel bearing noise.
If so use the good OEM type BCA/National wheel bearing assembley.
If bearing is bad replace it and also check for brake drag on caliper.
