Question need quick answer...what should be my nexy mod?

I have a '98 civic with nothing but the stock engine with the exception of an AEM CAI. I don't want to spend thousands, but i want to find what should be my next mod that i'll get my money's worth for. Do sport headers do anything but look good? I'll spend a couple hundred if i need too. Anyone got any ideas for more hp for my car?

Small n2o shot or exhaust.

put a big wing on it. some stickers. an empty oxygen tank. then sell it to some stupid kitd and buy an integra type R. i would say get the lsd and suspension upgrades. then cat back. but i like my first idea better. skip the n2o. botles are for babies... real men get blown

if i got a cat back exhaust system, would i have to get rid of the muffler i have right now? how much more of an increase in hp would i get? how much does it cost?

what about cams?

i dont want to spend too much, and i might be going to the shop later today so any more answers right now would help.

Do sport headers do anything but look good?

A full cat-back exhaust replaces you're current exhaust sustem right up to the catalytic converter, hence the name "cat-back." Depending on which one you get, like an A'PEXi or DC Sports or GReddy, you should see some minimal HP increases, maybe by as much as 5hp. You won't see phenominal gains from one unless you have some tuned cams, and a nice header to hook up to it, oh and no cat converter too of course since those really hurt power performance. I have an A'PEXi World Sport cat-back exhaust on my car, and I love it! A'PEXi says it'll increase mid end to high end responsiveness and power, and I have noticed those increases, not as much as I might if I had a header, but it's is better than stock. System set me back only $385.

A header WILL help you out, but not very much unless you have a good exhaust system to go along with it, and you're fuel system upgraded (intake manifold, cam upgrade, larger fuel rail, larger injectors...) Everything is relative to eachother when comes to under hood stuff.

If you know what you are doing, there is nothing wrong with a nitrous system. I personally prefer turbos, but nitrous is a good alternative if done properly.

Ok,it's just funny that no one asked, before telling you what a good mod would be.I would say it depends, are you looking for just better performance in general or do you like trying to take down everyone that revs on you?For just a improvment in your performance I would suggest one of two routes. The first was mentioned before, suspension. You really should look at this as the best performance upgrade you can do,since it is the basis for your cars handling, and ability to deal with power. The other would be a header/exhaust combo since really neither can be fully realized without the other. It is like putting a bigger fuel rail, without adding bigger injectors, pointless. If you want instant power that isn't going to kill your stock engine (with some responsibility) get a small shot of n2o,it really is the best bang for the buck.Anyway this is my opinion,if you really want to see a big performance gain save up some and swap out the motor, but like I said that is M.O.
