Do I have a tow package or not????

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer and now find out that I may have to tow a trailer for a trip. The hitch that is on my Explorer has the smaller sized tube for accepting the ball. I think it's like 1.25 X 1.25" and not the 2 X 2" so how do I go about finding out if it does or doesn't have a tow package on it currently. One guy told me there is a list of codes some where on the vehicle that would tell me if I could figure them out but I can't find the list any where. Any thoughts? Trailer weight loaded would be about 2,100 lbs and is a rather large boat so there would be some wind resistance going down the road. Also what would be the different trailer tongue weights I could haul between the small and large ball holder tubes? I'm so confused!

Not really sure what you are asking about?

If you have a hitch receiver, then you have a towing package. I have a 1.25" x 1.25" on my 02 Explorer.

As for the weights, ball size, tougne drop... etc. I would just go with the most heavy duty and durable one you can get. That way you won't have to guess what is right and you can always use it for future use. The factory hitch you have on your Expo should work fine.
