2000Blazer / anti lock issue

A/L brakes engage when turning to the right while braking and sometimes when braking in a straight line. All on dry pavement. No warning lights. I allmost rear ended a vehicle ! We also have a pop in the front end while turning right....AFTER backing to the left out of the garage.

Welcome to AF.
Time to get it checked and fixed.
You need to get it put on a ABS capable scanner and get codes.
Check codes right after it does it before you turn ign off.
Is the ABS light coming on?
Post back any ABS codes?
Also have front end checked for the noise.
Have the front front wheel bearing been checked?
How many miles on it?

No warning lights at all. 75 K, easy driver. Tracks good with no steering vibes. Tires are 8 months old and inflated even.

Get it on a ABS brake scanner and see what it says .

Got an appointment with a shop on Monday. I just don't want to get ripped. I don't have a scanner and there have been no trouble lights at all. If there were codes to read wouldn't the ABS trouble light have illuminated or maybe no ? Thx

Not always.
To find a good repair shop.
Check around Ask around
Word of mouth.
Family friends coworkers neighbors business people and delivery people.
Mailmen and parcel delivery people get around and notice a lot of stuff.
Even a good parts house knows what shops are good and not good.
Chamber of commerce and better business bureau and city hall.
If you find a good referral to a repair shop go look them over and talk to them.
Look for a clean looking busy place with nice people running it.
Ask a few questions and ask about their qualifications and training.
Not all places have trained tech/mechanics.
If they do not find a place that does.
Even all dealers do not have all trained techs/mechanics.
