Maybe buying a 2002?

I have a '98 Grand Caravan AWD. It's been good to me. It's got 160k+ and just had the trans rebuilt.

I have an opportunity to purchase a 2002 T&C for 6 grand. Is this a good price? It's got a 3.8 and 90k miles. I don't know the history yet, but it's a good friend's brother's car and I'm certain that my friend wouldn't screw me. I wish it had AWD, but I suppose I'll live. We have a truck if the weather gets bad.

Anyway, I'm aware they're essentially the same animal, but what should I look for on this beast?

Is there any reason NOT to buy it?
