How accurate are your fuel gauges?

There is not anything really wrong with my fuel float and sending unit, but i noticed that Grand Prix fuel gauges are not really to good in accuracy, mine really bounces around alot, i honestly think the gas you use has something to do with the accuracy.

Re: How accurate are your fuel gauges?

THe gas you use has nothing to do with how accurate your float acts. It just may be you car..

What year and and make and model is your car?

and in reference to the OP's question...all my GP's gas gauges are right on. you may want to check into your issue. i dont believe the gas you use makes any difference. may just be playing games w/ your head

Re: How accurate are your fuel gauges?

I see the same thing with my car sometimes. My friend has a 95 GP SE and he has the same thing but it's pretty bad lol.

Re: How accurate are your fuel gauges?

GMs do have problems with sending units and I see this all the time. You can get the just the sending unit from the dealer on some.Al that is need to get the sending unit is the vin off the vehicle. This is the way the dealer orders parts.

Re: How accurate are your fuel gauges?

I believe these gauges represent a voltage. So there could be electrical issues in the wires to the gauge itself.
