07 malibu maxx 28000 miles SES light

My wifes 07 maxx ses light and service traction in the message center keeps coming on, then going off. Dealer has repaired the thermostat the first time and reset things. The second time we took it in, (today) they said there was a random misfire code which was reset, but no repair took place.

In 3 days time, the light flashed twice. Does that mean the misfire occured twice, or do they repeat the falsh just as a reminder that a code is stored?

Just curious if we can expect this light to come back on.
