Digital Dash Help

So...I am new to this forum, but I already have a question. I have a 1989 Grand Prix. While driving one day, a deer ran out in front of the car. Well, of course it got hit, but it didnt mess up the car too badly. However, the digital dash has been really screwy since. I have no idea how fast I am going, how much gas I have or how many miles are even on it now. It still lights up, just, nothing registers on it. I am not all that car smart, so I am hoping someone knows the problem or at least has a guess as to what it is. Sometimes the speedometer will work, but very rarely.

Re: Digital Dash Help

Welcome to AF. It's very possible that a wire harness was unhooked as a result of the crash, which could explain why your spedometer will work sometimes. The wires could bounce around and line up. I would start there.

Re: Digital Dash Help

If you hit the deer with the right front corner, that's where the ECM is located. It's possible it or the wiring to it was damaged in the crash as a result of the impact.
