mirror

i have a 2000 monte carlo ss pace car. my driver's side mirror got damaged & i have to replace the whole mirror. it almost looks like i have to remove the whole door panel to get at the mirror bolts, but right next to the trim that hides the mirror bolts i see a seam that goes along the door panel front & around the speaker then along the bottom. does this seperate so i can get at the mirror bolts, or do i just have to remove the whole door panel? if so where is all the screws to the panel? door panel clips also?
